All-good Pomade

My son just got a haircut, or what he called it was a SMART-haircut. But this cool new haircut that not only makes him a big boy (he is turning 7 this week). But now he would need to use a styling product to make the hair stand up like he want it to. But buying just any of the stying products at the hairsalon or any other place is pretty much out of the equation.

SMART-haircut

The amount of chemicals and hormone disruptors we are exposed to through cosmetics on a daily basis is a lot. According to research done, infants are born with around 200 chemicals already circulation in their body. I believe that every place we can try reduce the exposure to chemicals, to lessen the total toxic load is a good thing. That’s why I made my son his own hair styling pomade.

The all-good Pomade is made with only natural ingredients, and gives a good hold through out the day. Great for short hair. I also added some cola aroma to it to make is smell good (I didn’t have marshmallow scent witch was the original wish). The ingredients are so safe you could EAT them, just incase if a zoombie-apocalypse is near. Stay prepared.

Ingredients

4 spoons sheabutter

4 spoons beeswax

3 spoons jojobaoil

2 spoons arrowroot powder/corn starch

2,5 teaspoons cola aroma

5 drops of lime essential oil

6 drops of caramel stevia

This gives approx 135 g of finished product. The hold is medium to hard, if you want a stronger hold just add 1 more spoon of beeswax.

Melt everything in a water bath. The beeswax requires some heat, so I found it actually easier to melt it directly in a pot on the stove on minimum heat. Mix in the arrowroot/corn starch and the aroma in the end. Pop it in the fridge for about 5 min. Then use a hand held mixer and blend it all together. This is to mix the beeswax together with the other oils. Pour in a container, and let it chill until solid. Then VOILA. Your own home-made pomade ❤️

Today my son styled his own hair, and he was so happy with the result. I obviously was doing it all wrong. 😂 But with this pomade I feel safe letting him play around as much as he wants to 🌿
